A Quick Guide to Health Insurance

Through our work at the MAXIMUS Center for Health Literacy, we know that health insurance continues to be a challenge for many consumers. To help bridge the knowledge gap so consumers can make informed health decisions, we must increase health insurance literacy.

The purpose of the online “A Quick Guide to Health Insurance” (the Guide) is to give consumers clear, complete, concise and easy-to-read information to help them access, understand and use their health insurance. States and health insurance programs can also use the Guide as a resource for communicating complex information to consumers.

It received a ClearMark Award of Distinction from the Center for Plain Language.
